Kate qualified in the UK in 1982, working initially in medical specialties including cardiology, diabetes, dermatology and respiratory medicine, before taking up General Practice training. Balancing medicine and motherhood, Kate worked as a part-time GP for seven years. Moving to Australia in 1996 Kate was successful in the Australian Medical Council & RACGP Fellowship examinations. Part-time general practice in Brisbane has been the mainstay of Kate’s professional contribution since 1998. In addition recent roles include medical student tutoring and skin cancer medicine. Outside medicine Kate enjoys cycling, boats, family, friends and walking the pet dog.
